ECONOMIC IDEAL – Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA – Iran is to file complaint at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) over US cruel sanctions on maritime transportation, Head of Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran said.
Mohammad Rastad made the remarks Monday on the sidelines of the seminar on logistics and transportation which was organized by the European Union.
Iran complaint is based on international regulations, he said, adding that Iran will issue a document against US measures as regard maritime transportation.
Iran's statement will be released in the form of an official document, Rastad said.
We will see IMO members-states' support of Iran's document, he said, noting that no country accompanied the US.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Rastad pointed to participation of 10 countries in the seminar, saying maintaining ties with the EU will help us reinforce trade exchanges between Iran and the European countries.
Earlier in a letter to IMO Chief, the Iranian embassy in London described the US' measure as in violation of international maritime treaties and a move that endangers safe navigation.
