ECONOMIC IDEAL – Tehran (ISNA) – Deputy Minister of Petroleum Amir-Hossein Zamaninia explained the details of how customers will pay for Iran oil imports.
In an interview with ISNA news agency, Amir-Hossein Zamaninia said, “The details of waivers which have been granted to eight countries from US sanctions on Iranian oil exports are not clear yet”.
About Iraq’s suggestion to pay for Iran gas imports in its dinar currency, he said, “National Iranian Gas Company doesn’t agree with the suggestion and the negotiations are still underway. According to the contract, Iraqis should pay for the gas imports in euro currency. In general, it is not a big deal and will be solved”.
“The reports that Iraq is to give humanitarian goods and food in exchange for Iran gas money are not true. It is possible that revenue from oil sale and other sources faces with some obstacles but it is not limit to humanitarian goods and food and will be included other things,”Amir-Hossein Zamaninia added.
About the issue that India will pay for Iran oil imports in rupee, the deputy Minister of Petroleum noted, “This issue is following up by Central Bank and the negotiations are underway”.
At the end, he once again stressed that US failed to reduce Iran’s oil sale to zero.
