ECONOMIC IDEAL – Tehran, Nov 19, IRNA – The European Union (EU) hopes to develop trade with Iran in the field of agricultural and food products if Iranian producers comply with the necessary standards, Director General of the European Union Agricultural Relations said.
Speaking at a joint conference on Development of Agricultural Cooperation, Standards and Food and Agricultural Trade between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the European Union in Tehran on Monday, John Clark said that the EU is ready to import agricultural products from Iran, especially trout, raisins and lamb if the necessary standards are met.
‘Iran and the European Union have both a rich history of agriculture, so given to the European Union’s current climate conditions it is necessary to help each other,’ he said while stressing that Iran and the European Union are facing a common challenge in of climate change and aging of users of agriculture sector.
