ECONOMIC IDEAL – Moscow, Feb 11, IRNA- Chairman of the International Organizations and International Political Processes Department of Moscow State University believes that Iran has not only advanced to a developed country over the past four decades in the Middle East, it has become self-sufficient in many affairs.
In an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Andrey Sidorov said on Monday that ‘Iran has been able to take great steps in the last four decades in path of progress and enhance its capabilities in various fields’.
The Russian professor stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran, despite the exertion of foreign pressures from the United States and its allies, has achieved these admirable success, noting Iran today in important fields such as technology, space science and nuclear science is ranked 1th in the Middle East.
Sidorov pointed to the US and Western sanctions on Iran's oil and gas fields, but Iran's oil, gas and petrochemical industries had gained significant gains, and efforts to stop these sectors have failed.
The Russian expert, pointing out that the Islamic Revolution has brought Iran independence, that Iran has become a model for self-sufficiency and independence.
He described political sanctions against Iran as politically motivated, adding that Washington's goal of sanctions is to force Iran to comply with the US policies and conduct, such as Saudi Arabia’s behavior.
