ECONOMIC IDEAL – Sanandaj, Feb 12, IRNA – Managing director of Kurdestan Gas Company, referring to the created infrastructure, says that the ground for the export of five to eight million cubic meters of natural gas daily to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq has been provided.
Ahmad Falegari said on Tuesday that consultations had been made on to export this amount of gas to the Iraqi Kurdistan region via the Saqqez and Marivan gas pipeline on a daily basis.
There were some problems, such as gas fading, in cities like Saqqez, Baneh and Marivan, but not only the problems have been resolved today, but also the possibility of export is paved.
The managing director of Kurdestan Gas Company said gas distribution to various sectors was one of the achievements of the revolution in the direction of development of the country, and noted, ‘Currently, there are about 1,700 kilometers of high-pressure gas transmission lines in the province.”
He added that 15 industrial towns in the province were connected to the gas network, adding that the number of villages benefiting from natural gas in the province amounted to 1,173.
