ECONOMIC IDEAL – Sanandaj, 16 Feb, IRNA – Central Bank of Iran says its foreign exchange reserves are in good condition despite the economic war that’s been waged against the country.
“The fact is that there is a special situation in the country and that we need to accept that we’re in an economic war,” said Abdolnaser Hemmati, Governor of Central Bank of Iran (CBI) on Saturday, adding the entity’s forex reserves are “acceptable and favourable”.
Iran’s financial chief noted that there’s been a plan to make better use of the bank's forex exchange reserves.
Since Hemmati was appointed as the CBI's new governor last June, the government has been able to control fluctuations in foreign currency prices and restore calm to the market.
