ECONOMIC IDEAL – Bushehr, March 17, IRNA – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani opened two gas projects on the sidelines of a ceremony held for opening of 4 new phases of South Pars through video conference.
The Iranian president opened pipelines that deliver ethane from the second phase of the South Pars complex to other parts of the large energy energy project.
Rouhani also presided over the inauguration of a plant that produces natural gas odorant.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, President Rouhani expressed satisfaction over the inauguration of the mentioned projects.
President Rouhani is in Bushehr Province to inaugurate four phases of South Pars gas field and some other projects.
The four new phases commissioned today include the phases 13, 22, 23 and 24 of South Pars.
The development plan for phases 13, 22 to 24 of South Pars will yield a daily production capacity of 113 million cubic meters of gas, 100 million cubic meters of methane, 150,000 barrels of gas condensate, 800 tons of granular sulfur, 2.1 million tons of liquid gas per year, and two million tons of ethane as the main feed for petrochemical industries.
Under the current situation, Iran's total gas production capacity from the South Pars gas field is 600 million cubic meters a day, which, with the commissioning of these four new phases, the capacity will exceed 700 million cubic meters per day.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Company Hassan Montazer Torbati said that obstacles resulted by limitation for producers and also foreign distributors have made the National Iranian Gas Company take the necessary measures for supplying gas odorization material.
He added that based on the international standards, it is essential to odorize the natural gas to be used in rural and urban fields.
