ECONOMIC IDEAL – Baku, April 18, IRNA – Minister of Industries, Mining and Trade Reza Rahmani said on Thursday that Tehran and Baku are determined to further develop economic cooperation in line with both sides' capabilities.
The Iranian minister made the remarks upon his arrival in Baku this afternoon.
Given the historical commonalities and the common interests both countries share as two neighbors, he said, Iran and Azerbaijan are determined to bolster and develop economic, commercial and industrial relations between the two countries.
He also hoped he would hold fruitful talks with Azeri side in order to help bolster and deepen economic relations between the two sides.
Following up the already-signed agreements between the two countries require continued exchange of visits between the two countries' officials, he said, noting that the current visit is taking place with the same purpose.
Iran and Azerbaijan experienced a very good relation last year which indicates a remarkable growth in compare to the corresponding period in previous years but there is more untapped economic potentials which all should be tapped in this year, the minister said.
The minister further said that Tehran follows up enhancing economic cooperation in a joint industrial zone.
Rahmani also said he expected to witness increase in both sides trade exchange meeting both nations' interests.
The Iranian minister is to confer with a number of high ranking Azeri officials during his stay in the country to examine expansion of economic cooperation.
The Iranian minister is to visit Iranian businessmen residing in Azerbaijan.
