ECONOMIC IDEAL – Tehran, April 20, IRNA – Iran is the top-five manufacturer of steam turbine rotor, IRNA reported on Tuesday quoting industrial sources.
Importing a steam turbine rotor would cost nearly €3 million for the country while Iran manufactures the rotor at one-third of the world market price.
Iranian made rotor can withstand steam temperatures above 500c.
A team of Iranian engineers working for Iran’s Power Plant Repairs Company built the rotor by reverse engineering of a rotor made by General Electric.
