TEHRAN (ecoideal)- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan underlined that Iran is ready to expand bilateral relations with Turkey in all fields.
"We believe that the relations between Iran and Turkey should be promoted to a strategic level in all fields," President Rouhani said during the telephone conversation.
Rouhani also voiced Iran's readiness to make a leap in economic relations between the two countries, and said, "Faster implementation of the use of the national currency of the two countries in business transactions can accelerate and boost Tehran-Ankara economic relations."
He also called for the development of tripartite cooperation between Iran, Turkey and Russia on regional issues and referred to the proposal to hold a meeting of the three presidents in Istanbul regarding Syria, and called for consultations of the foreign ministers of the three countries to set the agenda and time of the tripartite meeting.
President Erdogan, for his part, called for deepening of Tehran-Ankara relations in all areas.
The Turkish president emphasized that the use of national currency business transactions was very important for both countries and could make a leap in Tehran-Ankara economic cooperation.
The Turkish president also referred to the great achievements of the Sochi Summit in the direction of establishing stability and security in Syria and invited Iran's president to attend the summit of the Presidents of Iran, Turkey and Russia in Istanbul.
He also expressed interest of the presidents of some Western countries to participate in the tripartite summit of Iran, Turkey and Russia.
President Rouhani had in a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin reiterated his country's opposition to the presence of foreign forces in Syria.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran is opposed to the presence of foreign forces on Syrian territories without the permission of the country's government and nation," President Rouhani said.
He warned that continued tension in Northern Syria is beneficial to no one, and expressed hope that all the regional states would respect Syria's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
President Rouhani also underscored the importance of Tehran-Ankara-Moscow cooperation in fighting against terrorism and returning tranquility and stability to Syria, and said, "Such cooperation is necessary similar to the past and it should strengthen and continue until the Syrian people's final victory against the terrorists."
