Tehran (ECOIDEAL) – Iran in its first oil step in the New Year signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Republic of Azerbaijan in the field of oil exploration blocks in the Caspian Sea, in a hope to make an evolution in Iran’s oil activities in this region.
The visit of Iran’s president Hassan Rouhani to Azerbaijan had important results in various areas such as oil which led to signing 8 deals between the two countries.
In a statement before the visit, Rouhani announced that the deal between Iran and Azerbaijan related to the Caspian Sea’s oil and gas would be signed which is an important agreement toward developing Tehran-Baku economic relations.
Rouhani’s promise fulfilled in the second day of his visit to Azerbaijan and the document for joint activities in oil exploration blocks in Caspian Sea was signed in the presence of the presidents of Iran and Azerbaijan by Iran’s oil minister Bijan Zanganeh and Azerbaijan’s energy minister Parviz Shahbazov with a hope to develop Iran’s cooperation in Caspian Sea.
