TEHRAN (ecoideal)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif voiced his country's readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations with African states, specially Senegal.
"The enhancement of bilateral ties in general, and economic relations in specific, with Senegal is on the agenda of my visit to this country," the Iranian foreign minister said upon his arrival at Senegal International Airport on Monday.
The Iranian foreign minister underlined Tehran's active role in Senegal’s automotive sector, and expressed the hope that the ground would be paved during the trip for Tehran to begin exporting non-oil products as well as technical and engineering services to the country.
The top Iranian diplomat arrived early Monday in Senegal as part of his four-nation tour, which will also take him to Namibia, Brazil and Uruguay.
Zarif last toured Africa in October 2017, visiting South Africa, Uganda, and Niger.
He also went on a six-leg Latin America tour a year earlier, traveling to Cuba, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Chile, Bolivia, and Venezuela.
