TEHRAN (ECOIDEAL)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Namibian Foreign Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah in a meeting in Windhoek strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians.
During the meeting in the Namibian capital on Thursday, Zarif and Nandi-Ndaitwah denounced the recent Israel's killing of a number of Palestinians and injuring many others.
During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister pointed to the significance of Iran’s cooperation with Namibia in Southern Africa, and called for the expansion of mutual cooperation between the two countries, specially in the field of banking and between the two countries' private sectors.
Zarif also voiced Iran’s preparedness to develop cooperation with Namibia in such fields as energy, water, construction, agriculture and new technologies.
For her part, the Namibian foreign minister welcomed any investment by Iran in agriculture and energy fields, particularly in renewable energies.
She also voiced her country’s support for the rights of the Palestinian people and condemned the Israeli army’s latest attacks on them.
In relevant remarks in March 2015, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a message to his Namibian counterpart Hifikepunye Pohamba underlined the necessity for broadening ties and cooperation with Windhoek in all fields.
Rouhani expressed the hope that the political, economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries would enhance.
He also prayed for health and success of Namibian president and prosperity of the nation and government.
