TEHRAN (ecoideal)- The government of Pakistan invited Iranian companies to invest in that country’s railway industry to improve its rail systems.
Pakistani Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique extended the invitation during a meeting with Iranian Minister of Road and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi at Ministry of Railways in Islamabad.
Akhoundi, for his part, underlined the need for the expansion of Iran-Pakistan cooperation, and called for the early launch of the railway line project between Pakistan's Gwadar and Iran's Chabahar ports.
He also called for the expansion of cooperation between Iran, Pakistan and Turkey for the extension of cargo trains.
Akhoundi, heading a high-ranking economic delegation, arrived in Pakistan on Thursday on an official three-day visit for talks with senior Pakistani officials.
