TEHRAN (ECOIDEAL)- A senior Iranian diplomat underlined that Tehran and Hanoi are resolved to considerably increase their annual trade exchanges.
"Iran and Vietnam will increase their annual trade exchanges to two billion dollars," Iranian Ambassador to Cambodia and Vietnam Saleh Adibi told reporters on Saturday.
The Iranian ambassador pointed to the recent visit of Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani to Vietnam, and said, "During his recent visit to Vietnam, Larijani and the senior Vietnamese officials underlined the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation in various areas.
The Iranian parliament speaker, heading a high-ranking delegation, visited Vietnam on April 16-18.
Adibi pointed to the status quo of Iran-Vietnam relations, and said, "The ninth session of Iran-Vietnam joint economic commission was held in Tehran last year.
In relevant remarks earlier this week, the Iranian parliament speaker called for accelerating the process of implementing mutual agreements between Tehran and Hanoi.
Larijani expressed the hope that Iran and Vietnam would witness bright future for their economic relations.
