TEHRAN (ecoideal)- Iran and the Netherlands signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in the 2nd meeting of the two countries' Joint Committee on Agriculture that was held from Wednesday to Friday in The Hague.
The 2nd meeting of the joint committee was hosted by the Netherlands and was co-chaired on the Iranian side by Head of Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO) Eskandar Zand and on the Dutch side by that country's deputy minister of agriculture and deputy rector of Wageningen University.
The two MoUs include cooperation in livestock and plants preservation, management of water, soil, and salt-affected lands, greenhouse cultivation, potato cultivation, genetic resources, fisheries, dairy products, trade in manufactured products, professional training and joint research.
The two sides reached comprehensive agreements on cooperation in education, joint investment, marketing for agricultural products and water and soil management.
The Iran-Netherlands Joint Committee on Agriculture was formed in 2016 within the framework of an agreement signed by the two countries’ ministers of agriculture.
