Tehran (ecoideal) – Member of Iranian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters’ Union, Hamid Hosseini announced that Tehran-Baghdad negotiations on exporting gas from Iran to Iraq will be continued.
“Iraq’s Oil Ministry is willing to replace gasoline and oil products with natural gas,” he said in an interview with ecoideal.
“Iraqi side is willing to use natural gas in its industrial and residential sectors. It is worth noting that the negotiations are in the initial stages and the amount and the exact time of exporting natural gas from Iran to Iran are not determined,” Hamid Hosseini added.
This contract is separate from the previous gas export contract from Iran to Iraq, because the previous contract was made between Iran and the Ministry of Electricity of Iraq and the new one is between Iran and Iraq’s Oil Ministery.
