TEHRAN (ecoideal)- Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoust underlined that Tehran is fully prepared to expand bilateral relations with Islamabad in different fields, specially trade and economy.
"Iran is resolved to boost economic and trade cooperation with Pakistan," Honardoust said.
The Iranian ambassador underlined that Iran and Pakistan are tied in eternal bond of friendship which will further strengthen in future.
"The people in Iran keenly observe developments in Pakistan and we are happy that democratic process is continuing in Pakistan," Honardoust added.
In relevant remarks on Thursday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani called on Tehran and Islamabad to expand their cooperation in fighting terrorist groups to bring about peace and stability to the region.
"Continued cooperation between Iran and Pakistan can help to regional stability and tranquility," Larijani said in phone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Assad Qaisar.
The Iranian parliament speaker, meantime, congratulated Qaisar on his election as the Speaker of the Pakistan’s National Assembly and hailed increased parliamentary ties between the two countries.
Qaisar, for his part, pointed to the long history of Iran-Pakistan cultural and religious ties and highlighted the need to enhance the level of cooperation between the two countries' parliaments.
Obtaining 176 votes, Assad Qaisar was elected as the Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly on August 15.
