TEHRAN (ECOIDEAL)- Afghanistan's Ambassador to Iran Nasir Ahmad Nour underlined that Kabul and Tehran have developed their relations in different fields, specially in political and economic areas.
"We are happy to celebrate the 99th anniversary of Afghanistan's independence in the capital of the friendly and brotherly country; Iran and Afghanistan are the two neighboring states with the same culture, language and history," Nour said on Saturday, addressing a ceremony marking the 99th anniversary of Afghanistan's independence held in the Tehran.
He reiterated that the two countries are determined to continue cooperation at bilateral, regional and international levels, and said, "The most important challenge is fighting extremism, violence and terrorism faced by Afghanistan and its neighbors."
In relevant remarks in June 2017, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in a meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan, underlined the need for expanding mutual cooperation in different fields.
During the meeting in Kazakhstan's capital, Zarif and Ghani explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating bilateral relations in both political and economic fields.
Ghani also called on all the governments to join in the fight against the terrorists.
Zarif, for his part, referred to strategic talks in Kabul, saying that working groups have been formed to implement the agreements signed earlier between Tehran and Kabul.
