TEHRAN (ECOIDEAL)- Kyrgyzstan's Ambassador to Tehran Avazbek Abdurazakov underlined that members of the Eurasian Economic Union are willing to further broaden ties and cooperation with Iran.
"The Eurasian Economic Union is interested in the expansion of trade ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran," Abdurazakov said in a meeting with local officials in Iran's North Khorassan province in Northeastern Iran on Sunday.
He added that such ties can develop in different fields given the high capabilities and capacities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Abdurazakov also expressed the hope that cultural, trade and economic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Iran would further strengthen, reminding the two countries' numerous commonalities.
The Eurasian Economic Union is an economic union of states located primarily in northern Eurasia.
A treaty aiming for the establishment of the EEU was signed on 29 May 2014 by the leaders of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, and came into force on 1 January 2015.
The Eurasian Economic Union has an integrated single market of 183 million people and a gross domestic product of over $4 trillion.
The EEU introduces the free movement of goods, capital, services and people and provides for common transport, agriculture and energy policies, with provisions for a single currency and greater integration in the future.
The union operates through supranational and intergovernmental institutions.
