ECONOMIC IDEAL (ARMANEGHTESADI.IR) – Orumiyeh, Oct 3, IRNA — Managing Director of Maku Free Trade Zone Organization says the Zone will turn into ‘Data Center’ of the country in order to develop information technology activities.
Gholamreza Soleimani said on Tuesday night, ‘In addition, we are looking to develop communication infrastructures in order to provide four main government services in the rural areas.’
‘The effort of the Maku Free Zone Organization is to turn this area into an Internet-based logistic service for web sites, and we are going to provide the groundwork for this important action with provincial and national institutions, ‘he added.
Managing director of the Maku Free Zone Organization continued, ‘The capabilities of the Maku Free Zone have attracted a lot of foreign and domestic investors in the area.'
Managing director of Maku Free Trade Zone Organization said on Tuesday that an agreement has been signed to connect Maku Free Trade Zone (FTZ) to the rail network of Iran.
Soleimani said the agreement was signed in presence of the Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free and Special Economic Zones, the Managing Director of the Islamic Republic Railway Company and the directors of the organizations of Maku FTZ and Aras FTZ.
He said according to Article 1 of the law on the management of the free trade and special economic zones, the organizations are responsible for the development of covered areas, and the development of rail transport is the key to the economic and social development of the areas.
He added, 'Expansion of exports, expansion of production and trade relations with the neighboring countries will be pursued by the organization and the connection of the region to the rail network of the country will play an important role in realizing the policies of the resistance economy.'
Emphasizing the impact of this memorandum on the national economy, he stated, 'If Maku Free Trade Zone is connected to the rail network, the country will be linked to the world's railways and roads actually.
