ECONOMIC IDEAL – Tehran, Oct 13, IRNA – Member of Board of Director at the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Hamid Reza Yari said on Saturday that Iran is to host the 40th UNWTO conference during November 12-14.
He made the remarks while visiting the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
The international event will be held for the first time in Iran in which tourism ministers from 157 countries and some 540 members will attend the event, he said.
Holding the international event at this sensitive juncture proves ineffectiveness of economic sanctions imposed against the country, he said.
Some 70 companies have received their visa to attend the international event in Iran, he said.
Eleven top Iranian tourism companies will join the event and demonstrate their services, Yari said.
The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is the United Nations agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism.
