ECONOMIC IDEAL – Tehran, Oct 23, IRNA – Deputy foreign minister for economic diplomacy described south-south cooperation development as a way to pave the way for achieving national objectives.
Gholam-Reza Ansari made the remarks on Tuesday, while addressing the National Symposium on Advancing Economic Diplomacy with Special Emphasis on Innovative Approaches to Development Cooperation.
The south-south cooperation will share its potential with other countries and take advantage of other countries' capacities, he said.
In the framework of the cooperation, Iran's credit as a country which has always been committed to growth of the developing countries will be promoted, he added.
Meanwhile, the UNOSSC Director and Envoy of the Secretary-General on South-South Cooperation Jorge Chediek verified Iran capacities, saying south-south cooperation by bilateral methods and triangular cooperation is a suitable opportunity for Iran to find different international partners.
In addition to meeting mutual interests, various opportunities will be provided for Iran, he said.
During the meeting, representatives of the UN, international cooperation agencies from Japan, Turkey and Mexico shared their experiences on developmental cooperation mechanism and the way for supplying national interests of the partners.
The event was organized by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), and with the attendance of international cooperation agencies from Turkey, Japan and Mexico, over 300 senior managers, ambassadors and foreign diplomats in Tehran.
