ECONOMIC IDEAL – Ankara, Nov 2, IRNA – Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Donmez announced that his country has been exempted from the US oil sanctions.
Donmez made the remarks on Friday on the sidelines of parliament budget commission session.
Exemptions from the US sanctions indicates countries’ reaction against Trump’s unilateral decision against Iran.
The US failure in decreasing Iran oil exports to zero becomes more apparent every day.
Iran is regarded as one of the most important trade partners for Turkey, he said.
Both countries have so far signed important contracts in oil and gas fields, he added.
Earlier, Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said Turkey will continue trade with Iran regardless of the US unilateral sanctions.
Turkey will not support any sanctions and will continue trade with Iran, Russia and other countries since Turkey is an independent country and has sovereignty, he said earlier.
