ECONOMIC IDEAL – Tehran, Nov 6, IRNA – The spokesman of the Italian energy company Eni said that it is reviewing Iran sanctions to check whether it can continue buying oil from Iran, said Reuters on Tuesday.
“Eni is examining the provisions to see if the decision allows it to consider the use of Iranian crudes for further flexibility in its crude supply system,” wrote Reuters.
He added that the company is looking at sanction measures to see if it can benefit the waivers granted by the US government.
The spokesman stressed that the US sanctions have negligible effect on Eni’s activities.
US’ exemption of eight countries from Iran oil sanction, including Italy, was an obvious retreat from its previous threats on zeroing Iran’s oil.
Eni signed an MoU with National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) to conduct the development studies of Kish oil field and the Darkhovin oil field phase 3.
