ECONOMIC IDEAL – Moscow, Nov 21, IRNA – Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the Russian Transport Minister discussed expanding rail cooperation, and emphasized on expediting the implementation of joint projects and the necessity of cooperation to end the rail construction of North-South route.
Mohamed Eslami went to Moscow on Tuesday to meet a number of Russian officials as well as participating at Russian International Transport Conference.
After meeting with his counterpart in Russia, he met with Russia’s Managing Director of Russian Rail Road Organization.
Considering how to develop the transportation system in the South-North corridor, establishing a three-billion-euro credit line to participate in the development of rail transport in Iran is among the issues discussed during the travel of Iranian minister visit to Russia.
Following his meeting with the Russian Transport Minister, Eslami announced that Russia intends to discuss the development of rail transport in Iran and developing cooperation within the framework of the North-South passage with Russian, Indian and Azerbaijani officials.
‘The two sides and the common conditions have provided a different opportunity to continue with the stronger energy of joint projects,’ he said in talks with the Islamic Republic News Agency that Iran and Russia have made good progress on joint projects.
