TEHRAN (ecoideal)- Zimbabwean Ambassador to Iran Nicholas Dlamini Kitikiti underlined that there are sufficient capacities for the broadening of mutual cooperation between Harare and Tehran.
"Harare is eager to expand and boost relations with Tehran," Kitikiti said in a meeting with Senior Advisor to the Iranian Parliament Speaker Hossein Amir Abdollahian in Tehran.
He also noted that his country is willing to expand economic ties, specially in petrochemical, technical, engineering and pharmaceutical sectors, adding, "The main hurdle hindering expansion of ties between the two countries is the lack of proper financial mechanism.
Amir Abdollahian, for his part, called for the broadening of relations between the two countries.
In relevant remarks in late June, Zimbabwean Vice-President Phelekezela Mphoko voiced his country's willingness to expand all-out relations with Iran.
"We deem as paramount important expanding mutual cooperation between Harare and Tehran," Mphoko said in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Ahmad Erfanian.
Erfanian, for his part, said that there are good grounds for fostering Tehran-Harare ties as the two have inked tens of documents on cooperation over past three decades.
