ECONOMIC IDEAL – Tehran, Jan 8, IRNA – Iran’s Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari Province Automotive Sheet Making Company (CBASCO) exported galvanized sheets to Europe for the first time, according to the head of the provincial Industry, Mine and Trade Department.
Naim Emami added that the company exported 9,135 tons of galvanized sheets worth €5.72 million to Spain, Trend News Agency reported.
The company has produced 171,150 tons of galvanized sheets since March 21, 2018, he said.
He added that the company supplies 58,000 tons of its products to automobile industry, while 113,000 tons are sent to other industrial units.
The company’s production has increased from 300,000 tons to 400,000 tons a year.
Meanwhile, an official announced that Iran produced 16.64 million tons of steel in the eight months from March 21-November 21, which shows an 18-percent increase compared to the figure for the same period the previous year.
The Head of the Board of Directors at Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) Khodadad Qaribpour announced that exports of steel chain during the eight-month period earned the country $3.2 billion.
He told the first Iranian National Steel Festival and International Exhibition on Monday that the 33-million-ton steel production target was met through efforts of workers in steel mills.
According to Iran’s Vision 2025, the target of 55 million ton crude steel production is accessible and of this figure, about 15 to 20 million tons is expected to be exported.
He said Iran has the technology and license required for production of steel.
Last month, the World Steel Association (WSA) announced that Iran considerably increased the production of its crude steel in the first 11 months of 2018, registering more than 17 percent growth compared to the same period a year earlier.
“Iran produced 22.59 million tons of crude steel in the first 11 months of 2018, indicating a growth of 17.3 percent compared with the figure for the same period in 2017, which was 19.256 million tons,” the report added.
WSA, meantime, reported that China topped the list of crude steel producers in the same period with 857.372 million tons.
India, Japan and the United States with 96.92 million tons, 95.86 million tons and 79.156 million tons, respectively ranked second, third and fourth, it said.
