ECONOMIC IDEAL – Baghdad, Jan 10, IRNA – Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi urged on Thursday expansion of relations between Iran and Iraq in various sectors, especially in the field of gas and oil.
Abdul-Mahdi made the remarks in a meeting with Iran's Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh and his accompanying delegation in the Iraqi capital.
He said development of bilateral ties between Tehran and Baghdad will serve interests of both Iranian and Iraqi people.
Zangeneh, for his part, expressed hope for establishment of stronger oil and gas ties between the two neighbors and said more cooperation is needed to achieve such a goal.
He congratulated Abdul-Mahdi on his election as new Iraqi Prime Minister and hoped for further stability and growth of the country.
