ECONOMIC IDEAL – Isfahan, Feb 4, IRNA – Isfahan and Doha in Qatar have started direct flights between airports in the two cities, the managing director of Isfahan international airport said on Monday.
Isfahan's International Shahid Beheshti Airport hosted a Qatar Airways passenger plane on Monday morning and direct flights between the Iranian city and Doha were officially launched, Hassan Amjadi told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
A Qatar Airways Airbus 320 will operate the flight on Mondays and Fridays based on the schedule, Amjadi said.
He went on to say that the Qatari plane will arrive in Isfahan at 4:00 AM and will leave the airport for Doha at 5:20.
Qatar Airways has the highest world ranking among 10 top airways and is capable of connecting Isfahan airport to 160 points in the world, he said, adding that Isfahan's Shahid Beheshti Airport is the fourth Iranian airport hosting planes from the Qatari flagship airliner.
Qatar Airways has flights to Europe, North and South America, Central Asia, Far East, Oceania and Africa, he said.
Isfahan International Airport currently has flights to Najaf, Baghdad, Iraq, Kuwait, Dubai, Istanbul and Tbilisi.
