TEHRAN (ecoideal)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif urged French banks to become more active in the field of various financial collaborations with Iran and remove the existing banking restrictions.
"France was a major contributor to successful implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)," Zarif said in a meeting with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian in Paris on Thursday night.
The Iranian foreign minister pointed to the role and efforts of France during nuclear talks, and said, "Iran seeks to develop relations with France, specially in the economic field, and the necessary potentials, specially in the area of production and employment, exists between the two countries, including exports to the other countries.
The French foreign minister, for his part, referred to his position on supporting JCPOA, adding that various instruments have been used to make this agreement successful.
The two sides also talked about the ways to deepen bilateral relations, regional issues such as Syria, Iraq, and Persian Gulf developments.
Zarif arrived in Paris from Rome on an official visit for talks with the country’s high-ranking officials.
