TEHRAN (ecoideal)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting with German Economy Minister Brigitte Zypries in Berlin on Tuesday underscored his country's preparedness to help Germany jointly produce and export its products to the regional states.
“Iran can be a trustworthy partner in joint production of goods and exporting them to the regional countries, specially Central Asia,” Zarif said.
Noting that the Iranian businesspersons and Germany’s commercial society have mutual trust in each other, he said, “The time is now ripe for Iran and Germany to broaden their economic cooperation and naturally banking cooperation paves the way for increasing the economic and trade relations between the two countries."
Zypries, for her part, pointed to the age-old relations between the two countries, and said, “Iran-Germany relations are at a satisfactory level and a large number of Germans visit Iran every year.”
She said that Germany’s export insurance known as Hermes is interested to guarantee investment projects in Iran, specially in the energy and electricity sectors.
Zarif arrived in Berlin on Monday morning.
He is also due to meet President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel later.
In relevant remarks in May, German Deputy Foreign Minister Markus Ederer in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Majid Takht Ravanchi in Tehran called for the expansion of all-out relations, specially in economic and trade fields.
"Berlin is determined to broaden and bolster economic relations with Tehran,” Ederer said, adding, "Germany will remain committed to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and will spare no efforts to comply with its implementation."
The German deputy foreign minister said since the recent visit of German minister of economy and energy to Iran, a number of economic and business agreements have been signed between the two countries.
