ECONOMIC IDEAL – Bojnourd, Feb 20, IRNA – Iran's Ambassador to Turkmenistan Mohammad Ahmadi said on Wednesday that the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries have hit $400 million this year and it requires more planning to enhance the figure to a desirable limit.
Speaking to reporters, Ahmadi said the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries hit $1 billion in 2017 turning Iran into the first trade partner for Turkmenistan.
The two sides have signed various memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and it is expected to witness the expansion of remarkable growth in this end, he said.
It is expected that trade exchanges between the two countries would hit $6 billion, he said.
Iran and Turkmenistan share some 1,200 kilometers of land and sea borders.
