ECONOMIC IDEAL – Tehran, Feb 23, IRNA-The head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran Mohammad said that the Islamic Republic has experienced a 1000 percent growth in exports in the past 15 years, which shows that the necessary infrastructures in the field of production have not been established as expected.
On the sidelines of the second international exhibition in exhibition industry at the permanent venue of international exhibitions in Tehran, Reza Modoudi went on to say that ‘Iran is considered a young country in the field of export, and it has seriously entered the import field from the region 15 years ago”.
According to the official, as much as Iran exhibition industry has formed alongside foreign trade, so that now “we have been actively involved in the exhibition field for two decades and have entered it professionally 15 years ago; this foundation of the exhibition industry requires time and opportunity for flourishing.
Modoudi emphasized that the development of this industry and the business sector requires infrastructure such as communication with the world and the possibility of exchanging money and goods, and if this is not possible, the exhibition industry is limited to the country.
He said, “Iran is the world's nineteenth largest market and is therefore of great interest to foreigners.’
The head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran stated that there are less than 500 items of export value worth $ 10 million annually in exports, and equally less than 500 exporting companies in this export range, which are facing a lot of limitations for internationalization.
