ECONOMIC IDEAL – Beijing, March 16, IRNA – China and Iran as two civilized countries face unprecedented opportunities and capacities for the expansion of mutual cooperation, especially in Silk Road festivals and projects, a member of the Propaganda Committee of Communist Party of China said.
Chen Ching, also Director General of the Propaganda Department of Central Committee of the Province of Gansu, made the remarks in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Saturday.
She pointed to long-standing cultural relations and friendship between the two countries, and said that many provinces like the Gansu province in the northwestern China are eyeing to have closer ties with Iran.
The official highlighted the role of Iran in the Silk Road, and went on to say, “Silk Road is a plan belonging to the international community and is a way to link countries to each other, in which all countries are considered, but the role of Iran is more evident.
Director General of the Propaganda Department of Central Committee of the Province of Gansu underlined, ‘We are very keen that the Islamic Republic of Iran is using all its power to take part in Silk Road projects and can cooperate with various provinces of China.”
She noted that because the residents of Gansu province are Muslims and they have the same culture and customs as Iranians, it is very good that the Iranian authorities can get acquainted with these benefits by traveling to this province.”
‘Within the framework of the Silk Road, the way to expand relations in various fields, especially economic and trade between China and its provinces, including Gansu, has been opened to Iran,’ the Chinese official added.
She demanded that the two countries have more opportunities for exchanges and tourism, cultural and artistic exchanges with the use of the potential of the two countries and the holding of various festivals and conferences, including in the Silk Road sector.
