ECONOMIC IDEAL – Tabriz, April 14, IRNA – Turkish ambassador to Tehran pointed to the harmful effects of sanctions on international ties, and said that Iran's sanctions on Iran is an indirect sanctioning of neighboring countries.
Addressing a meeting of the delegation of the Tabriz Chamber of Commerce on Sunday, Derya Ors highlighted that Iran's sanctions not only affected Iran-Turkey relations, but also all economic relations and global relations.
He stressed that ‘in recent years, a high number of trade and exchanges between Iran and Turkey was targeted, and in the past three- four years, the trade of two countries reached very high levels, which imposition of sanctions by the United States against Iran and the association of some European countries have negatively affected this trend.
The Turkish high-ranking official underlined that currency fluctuations from sanctions caused by the interference of some countries and banking economies in a country would be a huge disadvantage.
Ors went on to say that if the economy of a country is fragile, it will be damaged, and if it is resistant, it will stand and go back to its original course.
Pointing out that the Iranian economy is very strong, he said that Iranian and Turkish businessmen can go through these difficult days by providing appropriate solutions and cooperating with each other, and two neighboring nations sharing more commonalities than differences. There are many who can help each other in this regard.
Turkish ambassador to Tehran said that in the framework of the goodwill and political will of the two presidents of Iran and Turkey, economic problems can be resolved.
Ors argued that businessmen are in the first place in solving these problems, adding, ‘Traders are struggling to deal with problems, and they can come up with solutions to these problems.’
Referring to his willingness to transfer the problems of Iranian and Turkish businessmen to the Iranian and Turkish sides, he said, ‘Businessmen deal with various problems in business, banking, transportation, logistics, customs tariffs, and the embassy of Turkey is ready to work together and cooperate with each other in Tehran as much as it can to establish political, economic and cultural ties.’
Turkish ambassador to Tehran said that the chambers of commerce were very influential in solving the problems of Iranian and Turkish businessmen and could play a big role.
He made the remark that ‘by presenting new ways and attitudes, transferring these problems to the relevant ministries and the necessary follow-up to solve them’.
