ECONOMIC IDEAL – Gorgan, April 23, IRNA – Iran is the most economical route for the Central Asian countries as well as the Caspian Sea Littoral States, especially Kazakhstan, to gain access to high seas, Kazakh envoy to Tehran Askhat Orazbay said.
Taking advantage of Iran's capacities will benefit Kazakhstan as its northern neighbor, the Kazakh official said in a meeting with the economic officials of Golestan Province in northern Iran.
He added that Iran has allocated lands in two ports of Shahid Rajaei in southern Iran and Amir Abad in north of the country to increase the trade volume between the two countries.
Reminding Golestan capacity in developing trade ties with Kazakhstan, he said signing MoU between Golestan Province and Mangystau Region in various fields the most important of which is developing trade.
Referring to the fact that the volume of trade exchanges between Golestan and Mangystau Region has experienced two-fold increase compared during the last Iranian calendar year, he called for boosting trade between two provinces thanks to geographical and cultural commonalities.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Orazbay underlined accelerating launching direct flights between Gorgan and Aktau and solving problems with regard to visa issuance, especially for Iranian businessmen.
Kazakhstan is in dire need of developing trade relations with Iran namely in importing fruit, vegetable, detergent, plastic and construction materials.
Commenting on visa issuance for Iranians, he said Kazakhstan issues group tourist visa for over three people.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Gorgan Chamber of commerce, industry, mine and agriculture Ali Mohammad Chupani referred to permanent residence of thousands of Kazakh people in Gorgan, saying the friendship ties between Golestan and Kazakhstan are expected to be reinforced.
He pointed to banking issues, facilitating visa issuance, launching Gorgan-Aktau direct flights, taking advantage of Incheboron railway as plans which are being followed up by Golestan Province for promoting economic, tourism and cultural relations.
