ECONOMIC IDEAL – Islamabad, April 29, IRNA – President of Iran-Pakistan Federation of Culture and Trade, Khawaja Habib ur Rehman said that Iran and Pakistan are two important countries of the Muslim world and can jointly change the shape of the region’s future, local media reported.
He said that both countries through their close cooperation can overcome the challenge of poverty the region is facing.
Habib ur Rehman made the remarks while talking to a delegation of Tehran Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Habib ur Rehman termed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent visit to Iran as extremely important, adding the visit would bring far-reaching impact on Iran-Pakistan ties.
He called upon the government of Pakistan to complete Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project as early as possible to cater its growing energy demands.
Habib ur Rehman went on to say that trade between the two countries would further improve as there are vast opportunities available to enhance bilateral trade ties.
The trade activist said Iran and Pakistan can easily enhance the volume of bilateral trade and for this both countries should sign a currency swap agreement.
Leaders of Iran and Pakistan have already agreed to take the bilateral trade volume upto $5 billion in five years.
