TEHRAN (ECOIDEAL) – Russian state-owned oil group Zarubezhneft has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC) to carry out initial studies on the development of two oil fields in Iran, a report said.
During a ceremony in Tehran on Monday, representatives from NISOC and Zarubezhneft signed the agreement whereby the Russian firm will develop Shadegan and Rag-e Sefid oil fields in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, Shana reported.
According to the terms of the document, the Russian company has nine months to present the results of its studies.
Rag Sefid is being operated by Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company and produces oil from its Asmary and Bangestan reservoirs but its Khami reservoir has not been developed.
Shadegan Oilfield is also being operated by Maroon Oil and Gas Production Company.
