ECONOMIC IDEAL – Tehran (ISNA) – Chinese visitors can stay in Iran for a 21-day period without obtaining visa, the head of tourism office at Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handcraft and Tourism Organization said.
According to Iran’s new rules, Chinese visitors will no longer be required to obtain visa to travel to Iran.
On July 23, the head of tourism office at Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handcraft and Tourism Organisation, Vali Teimouri said Chinese citizens can stay in Iran up to 21 days without obtaining visa.
Earlier, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared that Chinese tourists can stay in Iran for a 15-day period following their visa-free entry to Iran.
Iran’s visa waiver program for Chinese tourists has been implementing from July 16, Teimouri said.
China is one of the main sources of tourists around the world. According to the Telegraph, in 2018 nearly 52000 Chinese citizens traveled to Iran and Iran hopes to attract one million Chinese tourists in 4-5 years.
