ECONOMIC IDEAL – Tehran (ISNA) – Iranian Energy Minister, Reza Ardakanian held talks with three senior Iraqi officials in Baghdad on Tuesday.
During his first meeting, Ardakanian held talks with Iraq’s Electricity Minister Majid Mahdi Hantoush during which they discussed bilateral relations as well as energy and electricity issue.
The two sides also exchanged views on ways to expand cooperation of Iran and Iraq in other economic sectors.
After that, Ardakanian met with Iraqi Minister of Trade Alaa Ahmed al-Jubouri and reviewed ways to regulate trade ties.
In this meeting, Iranian delegation discussed reinforcing interactions between Tehran and Baghdad and holding joint economic commission in line with mutual interests.
Meanwhile, Iranian Energy Minister met with the Governor of Iraq Central Bank Mustafa Ghalib Makhif.
Ardakanian discussed bilateral relations and cooperation in the fields of finance and the payment of Iraqi debts to Iran due to supply of electricity and gas and its payment mechanism.
The two sides discussed bilateral financial issues and mutual financing and the Iranian – Iraqi interaction in line with sharing sources of the two neighboring countries.
