Tehran (ISNA) – Within the month ending on May 21th 2022, the IME witnessed trade of 7,939,000 tonnes of commodities worth 2.6 billion USD, showing 9% and 11% of growth in volume and value of trades respectively, as compared to the month before.
According to a report by the IME’s International Affairs and PR, on its oil and petrochemical trading floor the exchange traded within that month 1,215,000 tonnes of commodities worth more than 974 million USD.
Commodities purchased were 225,600 tonnes of vacuum bottom, 270,276 tonnes of bitumen, 340,445 tonnes of polymeric products, 154,000 tonnes of lube cut, 176,309 tonnes of chemicals, 33,155 tonnes of sulfur, 15,713 tonnes of base oil, 330 tonnes of argon and 310 tonnes of insulation.
Metals and minerals was the next trading floor on which the IME saw trades of more than 6,680,000 tonnes of various types of commodities in both its domestic and export rings with a trading value of more than 1.5 billion USD.
On this floor the IME traded 4,352,000 tonnes of cement, 1,179,000 tonnes of steel, 764,000 tonnes of iron ore, 257,500 tonnes of sponge iron, 39,725 tonnes of aluminum, 72,124 tonnes of zinc, 33,155 tonnes of copper, 700 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 500 tonnes of coke, 905 tonnes of lead, 24 tonnes of precious metals concentrate and 23 kg of gold bars.
Moreover, on its agricultural trading floor the IME saw trade of 5 tonnes of saffron.
It’s worth noting that the IME’s automobile trading floor sold 117 Cara Sedan automobiles, for the first time.
Last was the IME’s side market on which the exchange traded 43,644 tonnes of commodities.
