Lut Desert (Kerman, Sistan and Baluchistan and South Khorasan)
Lut Desert is Iran’s first natural World Heritage and is so popular among tourists. Lut is known for its other-worldly sandy landscapes, salt lakes and lifeless amazing landscapes. Tabas is known for being the largest city in Iran surrounded by picturesque canyons, and vast paddy fields besides citrus gardens in the middle of barren land. Persian Gulf Coasts (Hormozgan)
On the shorelines of the Persian Gulf in southern Iran, a spectacular phenomenon happens unawares. After nightfall, the shores are lit up by the glowing blue light caused by bioluminescence and create a breathtaking scene while overhead the night sky is aflame in starlight.
Bioluminescence results when swarms of marine planktons are distressed by breaking waves or ship wakes and will give a light flash lasting a fraction of a second, suddenly cresting waves begin to glow and splashes sparkle.

Chabahar Beaches (Sistan and Baluchistan)
The phenomenon of Plankton illumination is almost witnessed at winter nightfall on Chabahar beaches where shores are lit up by the shining “Aurora of the Sea”. When Ocean Planktons brighten the shorelines with blue light and the night sky holds the galaxy’s key, take shelter in the dark and wait for the magic to capture it.
The glowing waves are unpredictable, and this phenomenon only occurs at night because planktons do not glow during the daytime.
