— Iran summons German envoy over desecration of Holy Qur’an in Hamburg
The diplomat stressed that Iran calls on the German government to behave responsibly and take decisive actions against the perpetrators of the blasphemous act.
On Sunday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani, in a statement, categorically condemned the desecration of the Holy Qur’an and Islamic sanctities in Germany, urging the country to put an end to such moves.
Kanaani slammed the “provocative” move and warned of its “dangerous” consequences and implications, according to the Foreign Ministry’s website.
— Iran reports 24% rise in exports in month to late July
The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) figures show non-oil exports from the country rose by nearly a fourth in the month to July 22.
IRICA figures published on Saturday showed that Iran’s exports in the fourth calendar month of the Iranian year 1400 reached a total of $4.171 billion, up 24% against same month last year, Press TV reported.
That comes as overseas shipments rose by just 2% in volume terms compared with the month to July 2021, showed the figures.
The figures showed that China was responsible for $1.403 billion worth of purchases from Iran over the month to late July as the East Asian country remained the largest customer of Iranian non-oil exports.
— Karim Khan Citadel: Prominent legacy of Zand Dynasty
Karim Khan Citadel, also known as Arg-e Karim Khan, was built in 1766 CE, following the order of Karim Khan Zand (1705-1779 CE). The citadel is a prominent legacy of the Zand Dynasty in Shiraz, the capital city of southwestern province of Fars, especially from the architectural point of view.
Karim Khan invited the most famous professional architects and artists to Shiraz and asked them to build a living palace for him.

— Iranians Martyred in Mazar-i-Sharif Remembered
Iran on Monday marked the 24th death anniversary of eight Iranian diplomats and a journalist who lost their lives in a terrorist attack in the Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif.
In a statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry paid tribute to the diplomats and the journalist who were killed in Afghanistan back in 1998 and reiterated its condemnation of the “unforgettable crime.”
The ministry also demanded measures by Kabul to clarify the circumstances that led to the incident.
— Shadi Paridar Honored as Best Female Chess Trainer in World
Iranian chess trainer Shadi Paridar was awarded as the best female chess trainer at the FIDE 44th World Chess Olympiad in Chennai, India. During a ceremony held by the World Chess Federation in Chennai of India, 13 women were honored in various fields of chess.
In this ceremony, the prominent Iranian chess player Shadi Paridar was awarded as the best female chess trainer by the 44th World Chess Olympiad. Shadi Paridar holds the title of Woman Grandmaster (WGM), who won the Iranian Women Chess Championship four times. She won the Asian Under-16 Girls’ Championship in 2002 in Tehran.
— Cultural Centers Perform Tazieh
A number of cultural centers in Tehran have been playing host to the Iranian passion play of Tazieh.
Several groups of thespians at the cultural centers are performing the passion plays on martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) and his companions during the Karbala tragedy and on the day of Ashura.
One of the centers is the Art Garden of the Iranian Artists Forum, where director Majid Khosroabadi and his troupe Kahrobay-e Tazieh are portraying different stories from the tragedy every evening.
This Tazieh is about the martyrdom of Hazrat Ahmad ibn Musa (AS) who, along with his brothers embarked on a journey to visit their brother, Imam Reza (AS), in Khorasan.
However, Fars ruler Qotlogh Khan was assigned by Abbasid caliph Mamun the task of stopping them. They were all killed in an intense battle against the ruler’s forces.

— Publications shed new light on Ashura uprising
Fifteen books developing the philosophy of the Ashura uprising came to Iranian bookstores last week during the days the country is commemorating the anniversary of the major Shia religious event.
In the year 680 CE on Ashura, the tenth day of the lunar month of Muharram, Imam Hussein (AS) and a number of his loyal companions were martyred in a battle against the forces of the oppressive Umayyad dynasty. The books have been published by Bustan-e Ketab, a major publishing house based in Tehran.
— First shipment of Iranian vaccines exported to Venezuela
Two batches of Iranian-made vaccines for hepatitis and tuberculosis were exported to Venezuela on Wednesday, August 3. The first shipment of Iranian vaccines including 200,000 doses were sent from Imam Khomeini International Airport to Caracas, Venezuela.
The vaccines included BCG and hepatitis B which are made by the Pasteur Institute of Iran. So far, 10 countries have succeeded in exporting the BCG vaccine, and there are only five active countries in the field of hepatitis B vaccine export, and Iran has now joined them, Delaram Darood, vice president of production of the Pasteur Institute, said
— Monsoon floods: Yazd tourism directorate warns of land subsidence
Yazd tourism directorate has warned about the possibility of land subsidence in the ancient Iranian city. “Due to the flooding in recent days, there is a possibility of land subsidence in many places inside the historical core of Yazd,” a provincial tourism official said on Friday.
According to the tourism minister, Ezzatollah Zarghami, torrential downpours in the historical core of Yazd have caused some 25 trillion rials ($83m) in damage. Dozens of flash floods ravaged 735 mudbrick houses and structures in the ancient oasis city over the past couple of days, the minister said.
