TEHRAN (ecoideal)- A senior official at Bank Sepah dismissed media reports claiming that Germany has sanctioned the Iranian bank, stressing that relations between Bank Sepah and its counterparts in Germany are expanding.
The ties between Bank Sepah of Iran and German state banks are expanding, Head of the International Office of Bank Sepah of Iran Amir Hosseini said on Saturday.
Rejecting the baseless rumors spread by certain Israeli journals on Germany's sanctions against Bank Sepah, Hosseini said, “Frankfurt Branch of Bank Sepah has so far given 607 million euros of currency and credit in Germany.”
He said that the Frankfurt Branch of Bank Sepah has been connected to TARGET 2 and SEPA banking systems.
After the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also called Iran Nuclear Deal, the sanctions on Bank Sepak and other Iranian banks were removed.
Bank Sepah, the first Iranian bank, was established in 1925.
The bank has branches in Frankfurt, Paris and Rome as well as a subsidiary, Bank Sepah International plc, in London.
